Just back from a two-week trip to Australia. I visited Sydney, Melbourne, and Cairns (ordered least to most favourite). Snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef was the highlight; it blew away my already high expectations. Swimming amongst the sea life and corals is a core memory now!

I'm about 70% through Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green, and I'm learning so much about a disease that plagued me not too long ago. It's interesting/ sad to see how we have (over centuries) recognised, pedestalised, medicalised, stigmatised, and finally normalised this deadly infection in disadvantaged societies.

My main project from last year Highlights.Email has seen some modest growth. At time of writing: 75 signups, with 7 active users exporting a total of 33 books via the service! This is the first time something I've built from scratch is being used by absolute strangers, and watching them (via logs) use it is exciting. To make this a sustainable product in the long-term, I spent some time late last year integrating Stripe and launched a €11.99/year subscription. The plan for this year is to improve accessibility by removing the need to install NickelMenu as a prerequisite. I'm hoping that will improve the current ~10% conversion rate from signup to active user.
